Sometimes the most compelling marks are made with the simplest objects. It’s with this idea in mind that artists Amy Torgeson and Erin McClusky Wheeler invite you to spend the morning exploring mark making and pattern using everyday objects. Students will gather items from their home, garden and neighborhood to use as stamps for creating interesting texture, shapes and patterns. During the second half of the workshop, we’ll use our freshly printed papers to explore collage and the many ways we can cut, tear and re-imagine the everyday. Amy and Erin will share how they use simple mark marking methods in their prints and collages and how those methods have the potential to create a big impact in our work.
This class will meet on Zoom and will be recorded.
